Program Officer

Shakeia McPherson is the new Program Officer for the Staten Island Foundation.  Preceded by Laura Jean, Shakeia aims to continue the mission to develop collaborative partnerships, intentional programming, and improve the quality of life for Staten Island. A native and resident of Staten Island, Shakeia received her Bachelor’s degree from The College of Staten Island and a Master’s of Public Administration from John Jay CUNY College. Before joining the Foundation, Shakeia has served in different leadership capacities through education, and arts with Police Athletic League (PAL), partnerships with DOE schools, and community development programming. Each position has given her a perspective on the needs of families in neighborhoods across the borough of Staten Island.
