Sara Ventrello
Special Projects Assistant
Sara joined The Staten Island Foundation as the Special Projects Assistant in 2024. Sara works primarily on facilitating the Elizabeth Dubovsky Fellowship in Social Work application process, organizing the annual social work conference, managing post grant approval processing, gathering grantee report and community data, and enhancing the Foundation’s social media presence. Sara aims to provide the Staten Island community and grantees with the necessary resources and information to foster growth and collaboration.
Sara was born and raised on Staten Island in West Brighton. After graduating from The Michael J. Petrides School, she attended Binghamton University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Neuroscience with a minor in Religious Studies. Sara was an active Executive Board member of the Theta Kappa chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a national professional gender-inclusive service fraternity, where her love for community programming grew. Sara previously worked for United Activities Unlimited (UAU) as an Instructor for their Summer Youth Employment Program and Work Learn Grow. She then transitioned to the roles of Career Counselor and Student Success Coordinator for two of the Civic Engagement Commission’s The People’s Money programs implemented by UAU. During these programs Sara worked hands-on with Staten Island youth, engaging participants through one-on-one meetings and workshops focused on professional and educational development.
