At the April 27, 2021 Board Meeting, the Directors of The Staten Island Foundation approved grants to organizations seeking the following results:

Community Service
Increases in the number of Staten Island residents getting and keeping jobs at a level that meets their employment goals
• SI Chamber of Commerce Foundation: $75,000 – Staten Island Private Industry Council (Year 2)
• Per Scholas: $50,000 – Responsive Classroom Professional Development

Increases in residents living in poverty to receive basic services and connect to other resources
• Brothers Care: $5,000 – Community Outreach Event Series

  • New Direction Services: $30,000 – Fresh Food for People Program

Improvements in human services or community-based service organizations’ or schools’ effectiveness and efficiency that lead to improved results for those they serve
• Meals on Wheels of SI: $87,965 – Healthy Nutrition for Staten Island’s Older Adults in the Face of COVID-19
• Person Centered Care Services: $10,000 – Behind the Ballot
• The GRACE Foundation of New York: $17,000 – Spelling to Communication Initiative

Arts & Culture
Improvements in effectiveness and efficiency of arts organizations that leads to their enhanced sustainability
• Noble Maritime Collection: $50,000 – Capacity Building for Museum Development and Programmatic Planning

Increases in the number of individuals participating in Staten Island art and culture offerings
• Friends of Alice Austen House: $25,000 – The LGBTQ+ Photographic Storytelling Program

Health
Increases in the number of residents that increase their exercise and/or improve their diet
• United States Wallball Association: $10,000 – Wall Games
